Rautahat — The visit of UNFPA Nepal Country Representative a.i., Mr. Sriram Haridass, to Rautahat highlighted strong youth leadership and partnerships advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality, and youth empowerment.
A key moment of the visit was an interactive session with nearly 80 young change agents, including Peer Facilitators and Mentors from the RHEA, ECM, and SAFE Girls initiatives. For the first time, participants from all three projects came together in a single forum, creating a meaningful space for shared learning, collaboration, and inspiration. Facilitated by UNFPA, young leaders shared personal and community-level transformations and discussed the changes they aim to bring, the support they need, and how they can work collectively to advance SRHR and gender equality.

During the visit, UNFPA, GNI Nepal, RDC Nepal, and Aasaman Nepal also met with Yamunamai Rural Municipality representatives to review progress on SRHR, GBV prevention and response, harmful practices, and ending child marriage. Discussions focused on achievements, ongoing challenges, and future priorities, emphasizing the importance of coordination and sustained partnership.
The visit reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening youth-led action and local government collaboration to create safe, inclusive, and empowering environments for adolescents and young people.
