Child Rights Discussion centers established in Gujara Municipality by RCL Project

To strengthen child participation and promote meaningful discussion on child rights, support was provided to child clubs of selected schools in Gujara Municipality through the provision of six tables and thirty-six chairs. This support aimed to create a child-friendly and conducive environment where children can freely gather, discuss, and engage in activities related to their rights, responsibilities, and overall development.

Child clubs play a vital role in empowering children by giving them a platform to raise their voices, share concerns, and actively participate in decision-making processes at school and community levels. However, many child clubs in Gujara Municipality were facing challenges due to the lack of basic furniture, which limited their ability to conduct regular meetings, discussions, and learning sessions effectively. The provision of tables and chairs addressed this gap by ensuring a safe, comfortable, and organized space for children to sit together and engage in constructive dialogue.

With the availability of proper furniture, child club members are now able to conduct regular discussions on key child rights issues, including the right to education, protection from child labor, child marriage, discrimination, and violence. The furniture has also supported the organization of awareness sessions, group work, quiz competitions, and planning meetings led by children themselves. This has enhanced their confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Moreover, the improved meeting environment has encouraged greater participation of children, including girls and children from marginalized communities, ensuring inclusiveness and equal opportunity. Teachers and child club facilitators have also noted increased enthusiasm and regularity in child club activities since the support was provided.

Overall, the provision of six tables and thirty-six chairs has contributed significantly to strengthening child clubs in schools of Gujara Municipality. By enabling structured discussions on child rights in a supportive setting, this initiative has helped foster child empowerment, awareness, and active citizenship, ultimately contributing to the protection and promotion of child rights at the grassroots level.
