Action Intervention:
As a member of the dialogue center, she participated in the sessions where she learned about the different forms of violence and realized that she is also the victim of domestic violence and shared her story with the group. She was determined to do something in her life and be financially independent. She was happy that she got a chance to share her suffering and story.
Support Provided:
After hearing her story, the social mobilizer visited her to confirm her eligibility for livelihood support. The assessment was done for the livelihood support of the GBV survivor. Following the assessment she participated in a 5 day of SIYB training program. She was willing to start a snack shop as she has experience in cooking different items. Therefore, after identifying the needs and recognizing her interest and experience in cooking, RDC Nepal provided snack items worth RS 50,000 as support to start the snack shop. She was saving 100 Rs per day in the dialogue center group. From that savings, she managed the cost of preparing the shop.

‘’I was verge of ending my life before getting the support, I was blind and had nowhere to go. Due to my husband’s abuse, I was broken. I was willing to do something and now support from the RDC has shown me the way to be economically strong. I thank RDC Nepal for the support and for giving me a second life.”
She earns 2000 to 3000 per day. Her husband now supports her in the shop and has a good relationship now. Now Sarada is saving Rs 100 per day in finance.
