Ambari Khatun, a 45-year-old woman from Rajpur Municipality Ward-1, is a mother of four daughters and one son. She lives in a difficult situation where she is the main person responsible for managing the household and caring for her family. Her husband struggles with alcohol addiction and does not earn regularly. Her son also does not work and spends most of his time at home. In addition, her eldest daughter lives in the same household with her children after being abandoned by her husband. With such a large family to care for, Ambari carries a heavy responsibility.

Ambari is a right holder of the GARVA Project and has received support to start a small grocery business. She earns a small income from her grocery shop and sometimes works as a daily laborer in the community. However, her earnings are still not enough to meet the needs of the large household. Because of the limited income, the family often faces food shortages and sometimes has to skip meals.
As a Muslim family, Ramadan is a very special and meaningful time for Ambari and her family. It is a period of spiritual reflection, prayer, and fasting. However, due to financial difficulties, it is very challenging for them to manage enough food during this time. Their meals are usually very simple because they cannot afford a variety of foods.
In this difficult situation, the Ramadan Food Pack support provided on 9 March 2026 brought great relief to Ambari and her family. The food pack included essential items such as rice, lentils, cooking oil, sugar, salt, and grams. This support helped ensure that the family had enough food to prepare Sehri and Iftar meals during Ramadan.

Ambari shared that this assistance reduced her family’s immediate financial burden and helped them manage their food needs for several weeks. Since her family is large, the food support helped ensure food security for about one month.
Ambari and her family expressed their deep gratitude to RDC Nepal and IR Nepal for their kindness and generosity. The Ramadan Food Pack not only helped them meet their food needs but also allowed them to observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.
