Sponsorship-Integrated Projects

Funding Partner: Qatar Charity Nepal

Project Name: Sponsorship Project, Integrated Livelihood Intervention Projects

Project Area: Madhesh Province

Project Objective and Brief Summary: The primary objective of this sponsorship project, jointly integrated by Qatar Charity Nepal and RDC Nepal, is to support vulnerable and economically disadvantaged households in establishing fully functional fast food and grocery shops as sustainable livelihood options. The project aims to reduce poverty, unemployment, and economic dependency by enabling beneficiaries to engage in small-scale entrepreneurship and self-employment.

Through the provision of essential equipment, shop furniture, initial stock, and rental support, the project removes major financial barriers that often prevent low-income individuals from starting or sustaining small businesses. By ensuring that each supported shop is fully operational from the outset, the initiative enhances income-generating capacity and promotes long-term economic stability for beneficiary families.

The project also seeks to strengthen local markets by encouraging community-based businesses that improve access to affordable food and daily necessities. In doing so, it contributes to local economic development while reducing reliance on informal or unsafe labor practices, including child labor.

Ultimately, this initiative aims to empower beneficiaries with dignified livelihood opportunities, enhance household resilience, and foster self-reliance. By integrating livelihood support with social protection goals, the partnership between Qatar Charity Nepal and RDC Nepal promotes inclusive economic growth and sustainable community development.
